Mariel Beasley
Mariel Beasley is the Head of Product and Insights at SaverLife, leading the organization’s Research and Insights and Member Experience functions. With a deep commitment to improving financial well-being, Mariel blends rigorous research with practical strategies to design impactful, user-centric solutions that measurably enhance financial health and advance financial inclusion and equity.
Throughout her career, Mariel has consistently bridged research and practice to create meaningful, sustainable change for underserved communities. Her passion for building a world where everyone can achieve financially security has guided her professional journey, including serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic, working for Boulder County Housing and Human Services, and, most recently, co-founding and directing the Common Cents Lab, a behavioral science research lab at Duke University. In that role, she led a team collaborating with over 100 financial institutions, fintech companies, and nonprofit organizations to design and test better products and services, ultimately improving the financial health of millions of households around the globe.
Mariel holds a MPP from Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy and a BA from UNC-Chapel Hill. Originally from Idaho, she now calls Durham, NC home, where she enjoys riding bikes, walking in the woods, watching minor-league baseball, and spending time with her partner and two children.
